Nestled on 42 acres in the heart of the valley just outside of Eugene, OR. We offer a family focused full care equestrain facility. Sunrise Stables is the home of Riding with Class and the life long dream come true of Crysta Awtry. We offer horse training, horse sales, stallion handling and breeding, as well as a riding academy with safe lesson horses for all ages and levels.

Stallion Handling and Breeding
Crysta Awtry is dedicated to producing healthy, well-bred, and high-quality horses through expert stallion handling and breeding programs.
Crysta Awtry has spent the last 20 years building her program. She has sold her youngstock through the USA and even exported her horses into Canada.
Crysta Awtry prides herself on producing dressage horses that can jump with quiet minds and SOUND bodies.
Training Programs
Crysta Awtry is now accepting horses for young horse starting, sales, 30-day tune-ups, and long-term training goals.
With over 20 years of experience selling horses across the US and Canada, Riding with Class at Sunrise Stables has developed a strong network within the equestrian community nationwide.
Crysta Awtry's specialization lies in dressage, eventing, and sport horses; Though she has a strong background with western, trail, and gaited horses.
If managing the sale of your horse seems daunting, Crysta Awtry would love to invite you to reach out. Crysta has a genuine passion for sales and would be delighted to collaborate with you.
Hauling arrangements can be made for out of state and in state clients.

Crysta Awtry
Founder & Head Trainer
Crysta has breathed and slept horses since she was a young girl. Her first time on a horse was at 3 years old, and Crysta has not looked back since.
​
Crysta has successfully shown through 3rd level dressage. She is currently schooling PSG. Crysta has plans to step down centerline next year with her stallion, Whirlwynd Romance.
​
Crysta has a background and shown in Eventing, Dressage, Reining and even saddleseat.
​
Though her passion is to help horses that no one else can seem to understand.
​
Crysta Awtry loves to help sales horses find their new families.
​
The rare time Crysta is not at Sunrise Stables working. She is found on the back of her mare of 21 years, Cassidy, exploring the back country.
Jodie Vanderbeck
Barn Manager

Jodie works tirelessly to make major improvements to our facility. When we took over our new property in the summer of 2024 it had sat abandoned for over 5 years. Jodie has poured countless hours of blood, sweat and tears into the land we have grown to love.
When Jodie is not working to make Sunrise Stables return to its former glory. Jodie is a full time real estate agent who loves to help her clients find the home of their dreams.
Her great loves are her children and her two thoroughbred geldings Ziggy and Prince. Ziggy and Jodie love to event together and explore new trail systems.
Brenna Awtry

Growing up as her mom's shadow Brenna has spent countless hours pursuing her dreams to become a 4* event rider.
​
Brenna works tirelessly to constantly improve her riding. She is also an honor roll student.
​
Brenna works closely with her mom to produce quality ridable young horses.
​
Brenna is pictured above with her Thoroughbred mare, American Council on their placing run around Open Training level at Aspen in 2025.

Addysen Vanderbeck

Addy has a strong love for horses. She has grown up around the barn at Riding with Class. Addy is an instrumental part of the Sunrise Stables team. Her hard-working nature and no-nonsense attitude keep the wheels of Sunrise Stables running smoothly. On any given day you will find Addy grooming and prepping horses for Crysta Awtry, cleaning stalls, fixing fencing and helping coach the younger generation of riders.
Addy's great love is her now senior Arabian mare, Potato. Together the two used to blaze the show ring together. The last few years has found Addy successfully bringing along several mares. She even ran her first successful Training Level at Inavale Horse Trials in 2025.

On her days off you can find her fishing or sleeping in. Without Addy things would not run as smoothly. If you want to show your appreciation her favorite drink is a Golden Eagle Freeze from Dutch brothers.
