Since 2013, I’ve purchased three horses from Crysta Awtry, and each one has been exactly as described…sound, talented, and perfectly suited to my goals. Over the years, Crysta has played a huge role in my growth as a rider. She knows how to challenge her students, match them with the right horses, and support them every step of the way. Her team is equally knowledgeable and dedicated, creating a welcoming environment for riders of all levels to learn and thrive. I have always felt welcome and wanted at her barn and family. In 2021 I moved to Arizona I ended up taking a pause on horses for a few years. When I eventually began searching for my next jumping partner I knew I wanted one of her home bred horses. I wanted a young horse to bring along from the ground up. With Crysta’s guidance, I found the perfect match… a three year old mare, originally “Jack,” now “Sass.” Crysta handled everything from the vetting to shipping logistics, which was a tremendous help since I’m based in Arizona. From day one, her support has continued. She’s always available for advice, encouragement, and training input if I run into questions. Sass has exceeded every expectation. She is calm, intelligent, eager to learn, and came knowing everything a young horse should. My veterinary team, and barn in Arizona was thrilled with my purchase and also very happy with my mare. I wouldn’t hesitate to purchase another homebred from Crysta. The soundness, temperament, and quality of her horses are truly exceptional.

Love, love, love Crysta! She’s the best trainer in town! My daughter has grown so much as a rider and as a person. Learning how to handle the pressures of riding a horse with its unique personality has taught her patience and perseverance. Crysta is incredible with the horses. She knows them so well. And she shares her knowledge with her students. My daughter has learned more than we could have hoped for in a short amount of time. Crysta knows what she is doing!
The horses are well cared for which is important to me. We feel good supporting the barn with the very affordable lesson packages. I just can’t say enough good things about Crysta!!

My children started riding with Crysta Awtry in the summer of 2022. Crysta is such a great role model to my young twins. She has helped them achieve their goals. Crysta is tough at times, but more than fair. She takes the time to invest in my children. She allows them space to grow as individuals while keeping them on track in their learning. This summer they even went to several horse shows and placed each time!
Since coming to Crysta Awtry's barn she has helped me purchase three horses. Two are currently in full time training with Crysta and I couldn't be happier with their progress. She really knows how to see a horse as an individual and bring out the best in them. I look forward to having her start my young Gypsian gelding (who Crysta bred) in the summer of 2026.
Crysta Awtry has personally helped me get back in the saddle. I had not ridden since I was a teenager. As a military veteran with PTSD and a busy single mom of three young kids she makes time to fit around my schedule. Crysta Awtry and her family have welcomed my family as her own. We love it here. For my family and I there is no other barn we would rather be at.

The Adult Horsemanship classes are amazing. They are great way for me to get back into riding. I enjoy riding with a group of people. We get to share our experiences in the class. Crysta is very encouraging and knowledgeable. I love that there are horses for every ability level. Over the summer I had the privilege to lease Big Molly. It brought such joy to my summer. I loved spending the summer riding and enjoying the welcoming barn environment that Crysta Awtry has built. Going to the barn is one of the best parts of my week. It has been a great way to get back into horses. I can’t wait until my next lesson.
